Glasgow Rocks Professional Basketball team play at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow. Basketball is one of the fastest growing participation sports in the UK.
About Basketball
The most extensive inter-community sport in the market, not tied to social class – its family orientated sports entertainment. 4th most played team sport in UK (Sport England). BBL audiences have a high female attendance (47%). Basketball is a fast, exciting and dynamic sport which is not only easy to play but is accessible to all. Recognised as a safe family sport, this has managed to keep its ‘cool and streetwise’ image.

Working with charity Scottish Sports Futures, the Rocks support and deliver sport and education programmes throughout Scotland.

About The Rocks
The Rocks were originally formed in 1998 as Edinburgh Rocks. In March 2002 they moved to Braehead. A new partnership was formed in 2008 with Glasgow City Council, part of this deal meant moving to the Kelvin Hall until the new Indoor Arena is completed in the East End of Glasgow – Originally planned for the Commonwealth Games.
The Rocks compete in the British Basketball League (BBL) which is the Top Professional league in UK. 12 teams compete and the season runs for 8 months (September till April).
