We are Scotland’s leading First Aid charity and principal provider of First Aid training, services and supplies. As well as offering HSE Approved First Aid at Work courses, we provide training in local communities throughout Scotland, and our highly skilled First Aiders help to ensure the safety of the public at local and national events - everything from gala days and village fêtes to international sporting fixtures and major music festivals.

St. Andrew’s Ambulance Association was established in Glasgow in 1881 by a number of Doctors and businessmen who were concerned with the increase in the number of people being injured in road traffic accidents and also the increasing numbers of injuries being sustained in the rapidly expanding industrial city.

St. Andrew’s Ambulance Association provides first aid training, services and supplies throughout Scotland. Every year, the Association teaches over 20,000 people vital life-saving skills. Approximately 1500 voluntary members of the St. Andrew’s Ambulance Corps give their own time to help others and ensure the safety of the public at events throughout Scotland. The Association also provides interesting and exciting activities for young people. Children aged between 6 and 10 years old can join the Badgers and young people from the age of 11 to 15 years old can join the Cadets.

The Association does not receive any government funding and relies heavily on donations from the public. It costs £4,200.00 each day to run St. Andrew’s Ambulance Association. If you would like to make a donation, please contact National Headquarters by telephoning 0141 332 4031, by fax 0141 332 6356, or by email: firstaid@staaa.org.uk.
